In a nation that is unique among Asia’s major powers in stretching between two continents, and being made up of thousands of islands, it’s no surprise that Indonesia has a somewhat unique approach to gambling laws. This is also a nation where Islamic law dictates that all forms of gambling are strictly prohibited. In the past, this has led to a number of bizarre situations, including a couple who won a lottery but were not allowed to collect their prize because they weren’t Indonesian citizens.
